How Improving an Existing Product makes it New Again…
For the last year I have been observing and participating in the entire buzz surrounding Inventionland. Inventionland has been the subject of news articles around the world and a question I get often is “What will you do next?” If you have ever read our client website, you learned that inventions fall into two categories, creating a new product or improving an existing one. In 2005 Inventionland was a new product, an idea brought to life, but just as we age, so does a product.
If you have read my blog Going Hollywood for an Invention, you know that we have recently made an improvement of our Inventegration® Service by including a 30-60 second video, called an Inventomercial™ . With the Inventomercials now in motion, the challenge I was facing was handling the logistics as well as creating a space for this new creative department inside Inventionland. I sat down with my creative team and listened to their needs, wants, and wish list. Knowing that we will be creating 200-250 new videos per month and a lot of new jobs, I decided to allocate another 20,000sq ft of expansion inside.
When I told the video department about the expansion, all the emotions and excitement I had when building Inventionland returned. It is the process of continued newness that is invigorating around here. The Inventionland video department is now under construction and some of its features will include a viewing and quality control theater, editing room, sound booths, dressing rooms for actors and actresses, a prop room, photo studio and, finally, the largest green screen in a three-state area. Be sure to check back in the next several months, I will be sharing some of the new video with you.
